Gibran Garcia
Gibran is a San Blas native but grew up in San Diego, California. Growing up, Gibran did not surf much in San Diego as the warm water, perfect waves, and empty breaks around San Blas spoiled him.
Surfing, an Outlet for Gibran
Over the past few years Gibran has taken to surfing the “cold” waters in and around San Diego, even competing in local events; however, his motivation for surfing lies in the experiences that surf travel provides. For Gibran, surfing is not only a sport but a necessary outlet to keep his “balance” in our modern world.
His approach to surfing is an “all or nothing”, go as fast and as hard as you can, approach which is evident in his powerful turns and down the line surfing. He enjoys riding different types of surfboards and taking trips in search of new breaks.
